The ASAA Mix Six State Volleyball Championships closed play crowning Tanalian 2019 state champion; the Nikolaevsk Warriors finished fourth in the double-elimination tournament format.
Nikolaevsk lost to Gustavus in the double-back bracket on Saturday morning at Dimond High School, the second loss for the Warriors. Gustavus advanced to the championship game where they fell to Tanalian 3-2.
Nikolaevsk recorded a victory on Friday in two games over Buckland to advance to the semi-final game against Gustavus.
Elizabeth Fefelov and Zachary Trail were selected to the Mix Six All-Tournament Team.
