History

Published in The Cheechako News - Friday, September 29, 1967 - ON THE AIR - Rev. Ray Mainwaring, acting manager and chairman of the board of directors of KSRM receives a telephone call from Federal Communications Commission in Washington, D.C., authorizing that broadcasting may begin from Soldotna's new radio station. KSRM, sponsored by Solid Rock Ministries, went on the air at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 1967. Operating on 5,000 watt, non- directional signal at 920 on the radio dial, the station is now scheduling programs 18 hours daily, from 4:45 a.m, to 12:05 a.m., except on Sundays, when hours are from 5:55 a.m. to 12:55 a.m.
