Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week Recognized

Each week throughout the high school sports 2019-20 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports/Subway Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.

 

For the week ending November 26th

 

Representing the Kenai Kardinals is Zach Rodman.  Zach recorded a pin and was awarded a forfeit wrestling at 103 pounds at the SoHi Duals.

 

Leading the pack for the Nikiski Bulldogs is Simon Grenier.  Simon recorded a pin and was awarded a forfeit wrestling at 160 pounds at the SoHi Duals.

 

Selected for the Soldotna Stars is wrestler Ezekiel Miller.  Ezekiel was the only wrestler a the SoHi Duals to record three victories by pin and he did that in two different weight classes with  one pin at 125 pounds and two pins at 119 pounds.  Next up for the Stars will be wrestling at Homer on Wednesday, November 27th.

 

High school wrestling continues on Tuesday, December 3rd with Kenai hosting SoHi for the Kardinals Senior Night; then teams traveling to Anchorage for the Grace Grizzly Grappler on December 6th and 7th.

 

Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports/Subway Athletes of the Week.  Each selection will receive a Subway Classic Value Meal from one of the area Subway stores.  Certificates are delivered to the schools for distribution.
