It’s the final day to cast your vote to repeat the success of this summer’s Levitt AMP Soldotna Music Series by doing it again next year. But first, it must win one of the $25,000 national matching grants that make it possible, and that’s where the voting of local music lovers comes in.
Shannon Davis, Executive Director of the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce: “We are still in the running, we are actually doing pretty well, we are in 17th place, but we need to be in the top 25 vote getters to move onto the final selection grant which would allow us to continue to bring fabulous music on Wednesdays during the summer.”
Thirty-three Levitt AMP grant proposals have advanced to online public voting, now it’s up to the local community to help Soldotna snag one of the Top 25 finalist spots.
Online public voting ends November 20 at 5pm. After public voting determines the Top 25 finalists, the Levitt Foundation will then select the winning Levitt AMP grant recipients.
Soldotna was one of 18 cities this year to win a $25,000 Levitt AMP Grant Award, which gives nonprofit organizations matching funds for a music series in their community. The mission is to celebrate the city’s diversity and changing demographics, bring people together through music and inject new life into an underused public space.
Winners will be announced on December 20. Photo provided by: Visit Soldotna
