A seven-game lead in the Midwest Division for the Kenai River Brown Bears took five weeks to build on the strength of a ten-game win streak.

It took just over 24 hours for that lead to dissolve to one game; as the Brown Bears dropped a pair of home contests to the last place Minnesota Magicians at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.

Brown Bears 4 – Magicians 6  Friday Night

Kenai River and Minnesota skated to a 2-2 first period with Brown Bear goals by Laudon Poellinger and Cody Moline.  Minnesota extended to a 4-2 lead before Porter Schachle drew Kenai River to 4-3.  The Magicians again extend to a two-goal advantage before Theo Thrun closed the gap at 5-4.  An empty-netter for the Magicians in the final minute sealed the game.  Final Score: Magicians 6, Kenai River 4.
