The Kenai Kardinals traveled to Anchorage and Nikiski celebrated Senior Night on Friday, both programs battling Southcentral Conference opponents.
Kenai @ Anchorage Christian School
ACS Girls 57 – Kenai 32
The Anchorage Christian School Lions girls team improved to 22-0 overall and 9-0 in the SSC with a 57-32 victory over the Kenai girls. Kenai stayed in reach through the first half trailing 25-18. ACS controlled the second half lead by Jordan Todd’s 22 points. Brooke Satathite lead Kenai with 16 points. Kenai moves to 6-3 in conference play. ACS will be #1 North seed and Kenai will be the #2 South seed for the Southcentral Conference tournament.
ACS Boys 88 – Kenai 55
The ACS boys improved to 9-0 in the SCC with an 88-55 win over Kenai on Friday. The Lions lead 33-20 at the half and scored 55 second-half points. ACS will be #1 North seed for the conference tournament. Kenai faces Grace on Saturday; the Kardinals and Seward are battling in the standings for the #1 South seed. All seeding will be determined on Saturday.
Nikiski vs Homer @ Nikiski Senior Night
Nikiski Girls 61- Homer 31
The Bulldogs closed-out the regular season with a 61-31 victory over the Homer Mariners. Bethany Carstens lead the Bulldogs with 25 points. Nikiski improves to 9-1 in the Southcentral Conference and earns the #1 South seed to the conference tournament.
Nikiski Boys 53 – Homer 48
The Nikiski boys improved to 5-5 in the Southcentral Conference with a 53-48 win over the Mariners. Jace Kornstad lead the Bulldogs with 18 points and Noah Litke added 13 points. Nikiski, Seward and Kenai are positioning for seeding into the conference tournament with games on Saturday to determine the final standings.
