SoHi & Homer Record Conference Sweeps In Tuesday Soccer Contests

The final week of the regular season for high school soccer loaded with conference contests including pairing on Tuesday with SoHi hosting Seward and Homer at Nikiski.

 

SoHi Girls 8 – Seward 0

The Star girls, lead by a three-goal, hat trick by Rhys Cannava in the game’s first half, rolled over Seward 8-0 in Peninsula Conference soccer action.  Individual goals for the Stars were recorded by Ryann Cannava, Sierra Kuntz, Drysta Crosby-Schneider, Keijan Leaf and Jordan Strausbaugh.  SoHi improves to 3-1-2 in conference play.

SoHi Boys 3  – Seward 1

A two-goal effort by Kaleb Swank pushed the Stars past Seward in a 3-1 victory for SoHi in Peninsula Conference action.  Maleda Denbrock opened the scoring for the Stars in the first half and SoHi lead 2-1 at the half.  The Stars improve to 4-2-0 in the conference.

Nikiski Girls 1 – Homer 2

The Bulldogs managed a single, penalty kick goal by Jordyn Stock in a 2-1 loss to the Mariners.  Homer moves to 3-0-2 in Peninsula Conference play and the Bulldogs fall to 2-6-0 in conference.

Nikiski Boys 1 – Homer 2

Daniel Reutov scored the game-winner for the Mariners in the final three minutes, breaking a 1-1 tie.  Nikiski tied the game on a goal by Cooper Stock.  Homer improves to 3-1-1 in the Peninsula Conference.
