The Peninsula Conference Basketball Championships awarded championships and state berths to the Nikolaevsk boys and the Cook Inlet Academy girls on Friday at Cook Inlet Academy.
Cook Inlet Girls 32 -Nikolaevsk 21
The Cook Inlet Academy girls topped Nikolaevsk 32-21 in the girls championship game earning the Eagles the conference title and the #1 berth from the conference to the ASAA 1A State Basketball Champions. The Warrior girls move to the 2nd-Place game scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Nikolaevsk Boys 66 – Ninilchik 56
The Warrior boys downed the Wolverines to claim the Peninsula Conference boys title and earn the conference’s #1 seed to the ASAA 1A State Basketball Championships with a 66-56 victory over Ninilchik. Ninilchik moves to the 2nd-Place game at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
