The Northern Lights Conference Volleyball Tournament crowned Palmer as champion, qualified Palmer, Wasilla and SoHi to the 4A state tournament and eliminated #1 seed Colony all in two days of tournament play at Soldotna High School.
The Palmer Moose completed an improbable run, from #4 seed to conference champion, with a four-game match victory over Wasilla 16-25, 25-21, 25-23 and 25-23 in the NLC championship game.
The Soldotna Stars and Wasilla Warriors each qualify to the upcoming state tournament by virtue of early tournament wins. Wasilla downed SoHi in a five-game, third place contest 26-24, 17-25, 25-23, 23-25 and 15-13 advancing Wasilla to the championship game.
