High school volleyball advances into conference tournament weekends with Soldotna High School hosting the Northern Lights Conference volleyball tournament and Seward High hosting the Southcentral Conference volleyball tournament.
The NLC opens Thursday, November 7th and running through the championship games on Saturday, November 9th all at Soldotna High School. The SCC in Seward begins Friday, November 8 and squeezes-in the entire tournament by Saturday’s championship game.
Northern Lights Conference Volleyball Tournament @ Soldotna High School
The 4A Northern Lights Conference Volleyball Tournament features five, large school (4A) schools in three days of bracketed competition. Teams include: SoHi (host), Kodiak, Palmer, Colony, and Wasilla. The top three finishers at the NLC tournament advance to the ASAA 4A State Volleyball Championships.
Tournament seeding is based on regular season, conference records.
Conference Seeding: #1 Colony (6-2), #2 Wasilla (5-3), #3 SoHi (5-3), #4 Palmer (4-4), #5 Kodiak (0-8)
(Wasilla receives the #2 seed over Soldotna based on region bylaws seeding of the tournament (record against team with a higher seed). Wasilla split their season series with Colony (1-1) while Soldotna went 0-2 against the Knights.)
First Round Pairings Thursday, Nov. 7th: All games at SoHi
3:00 p.m. – Palmer vs Kodiak
5:00 p.m. – SoHi vs Wasilla
7:00 p.m. – Colony v Winner of Palmer/Kodiak

Southcentral Conference Volleyball Tournament @ Seward High School
The 3A Southcentral Conference Volleyball Tournament features eight school in two days of bracketed competition. Teams include: Kenai, Nikiski, Homer, Seward, ACS, Grace, Houston, and Redington. The top two finishers at the Southcentral Conference tournament automatically advance to the ASAA 3A State Volleyball Championships, along with one At-Large team selected from the Aurora, Southcentral or Western 3rd place teams, or the Southeast 2nd place team.
Tournament seeding is based on regular season, conference records.

2. Redington High School (3-7 record)*
3. Grace Christian School (3-7 Record)*
4. Houston High School (2-8 Record)
South
1. Nikiski High School (9-1 Record)
2. Kenai High School (8-2 Record)
3. Homer High School (7-3 Record)
4. Seward High School (1-9 Record)
*Redington and Grace tied. The tie breaker came down to Redington having a better record against common non-region opponents.

Noon Kenai vs Grace
1:30 ACS vs Seward
