| The Kenai Community Library has trout and salmon fishing rods available for teens 15 years or younger to check out for free; just like a book. There is also a second rod check out location. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has rods and reels to check out by appointment only, call 262-9368 and ask for Patti or Sandee. Checking out a fishing rod requires completing a registration form (a parent or legal guardian signature is required). In addition to a fishing rod, teens will be given a copy of the Alaska Dept. of Fish & Game fishing regulations, a list of suggested fishing areas, tips on fishing safety and instructions on knot tying. |
