Cook Inlet Academy Girls Open 1A State Basketball On Wednesday

March Madness Alaska opens with the ASAA 1A State Basketball Championships beginning play on Wednesday, March 13th at the Alaska Airlines Center on the campus of UAA.

 

The Cook Inlet Academy girls will represent the Peninsula Conference, as conference champions, in the 1A basketball state tournament.  The Eagles open tournament play with an 8 a.m. game on Wednesday against Kake from Southeast Alaska.

The Nikolaevsk Warriors return both girls and boys teams to the 1A state tournament.  The Warrior boys, Peninsula Conference champion, play Sand Point on Wednesday in the 11 a.m. contest.  The Warrior girls, Peninsula Conference runner-up, play New Halen at 12:30 p.m.

 

Thirty-two teams, including 16 girls and 16 boys teams from throughout Alaska representing 10 conferences, make up the four-day 1A ASAA State Basketball Championships.

Cook Inlet Academy Girls-Peninsula Conference Champions vs Kake   8 a.m.

Nikolaevsk Girls- Peninsula Conference Runner-Up vs New Halen   12:30 p.m.

Nikolaevsk Boys- Peninsula Conference Champions vs Sand Point   11 a.m.
