Bulldog Soccer Battles Palmer; SoHi Sweeps Houston

Nikiski and Soldotna soccer programs picked-up non-conference victories in high school soccer on Thursday opening their valley road trips with a combined three wins and one tie in the Valley against Palmer and Houston.

 

Nikiski Girls 3 – Palmer 3

The Bulldog girls, on the strength of two goals by America Jefferies, played to a 3-3 tie against the Palmer Moose.  Jefferies scored the first two goals for Nikiski and the Bulldogs added a penalty kick by Jordyn Stock for the tying goal.

Nikiski Boys 3 – Palmer 0

The Bulldog boys posted a 3-0 shut out of the Palmer Moose on Palmer’s home field on Thursday.  The Bulldogs lead at the half on a goal by Isaiah Gray and added two, second half goals, one by Pedro Souza and one for Cooper Stock for the 3-0 victory.

 

SoHi Girls 10 – Houston 0

The Soldotna girls shut out Houston 10-0 in non-conference soccer on Thursday.  The SoHi offense was lead by Sierra Kuntz with a pair of goals; Rhyss Cannava and Cameron Blackwell scored two goals apiece.  Single goals were scored by Meijan Leaf, Katie Delker, Journey Miller and Jordan Strausbaugh.  Seven different SoHi girls scored goals for the Stars.

SoHi Boys 9 – Houston 1

The Soldotna boys recorded a 9-1 victory over the Houston Hawks with three players combining for all nine SoHi goals.  Josh Heiber scored a four-goal, hat trick; Kaleb Swank recorded a three-goal, hat trick and Alex Montague netted two goals and notched six assists.
