Brown Bears Open Final Series In Fairbanks On Thursday

The Kenai River Brown Bears Junior A hockey team opens its final three-game hockey series in Fairbanks on Thursday, March 28th at the Big Dipper Arena against in-state rival Fairbanks Ice Dogs.

Thursday’s game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday games are set for 7:30 drop of the puck.

All three games will be broadcast on ESPN 1140AM and streamed live on ESPN 1140AM.

 

The Brown Bears close out the regular season, eliminated from a Midwest Division playoff berth and mathematically out of the Ravn Cup Series race (in-state series vs the Ice Dogs).  Fairbanks leads the series 7-2.

 

Kenai River currently stands in fifth place in the Midwest Division of the NAHL, the top four teams qualify to the playoffs.  Kenai River owns a regular season record of 22-29-3-3 and 50 points; nine points behind fourth place Janesville for the final playoff position.  The Fairbanks Ice Dogs currently stand in first place in the Midwest Division with a record of 35-16-3-3 and 76 points.
